FBC is Seeking Music Director (Until Filled)

First Baptist Church of Manassas, VA, a medium-sized historic African-American congregation with a modern ministry and contemporary mission is seeking a gifted Christian, spirit-led Music Director, who possess a joyful presence and commitment to a powerful and uplifting praise and worship experience, for its Adult Choir (VOH). A minimum of five years’ experience as a Director and or Praise and Worship leader is required.

Selected candidates will be responsible to work as a team player while aligning with and supporting the vision of Pastoral leadership and the Music & Arts Ministry. The candidate must possess the experience and skills to effectively select and plan music for the 3rd Sunday service (8am and 11am, and 1045 Praise and Worship leading into 11am service). An ability of vocal excellence will be considered a plus. Participation in occasional community outreach events, ecumenical services, and outside preaching engagements with the Senior Pastor, when your choir is requested, is a requirement.

Additional responsibilities include the ability to recruit, equip, motivate, supervise, shepherd, and lead VOH choir members and accompanying musicians under your direction. Attested musical skills and high competence to lead, teach, direct, and manage church choirs, as well as play piano, organ, and keyboard by ear and sheet music, and teaching all choir parts is essential. Be responsible as the lead musician and all musical aspects of the service for 3rd Sunday. Serve as member of Music Ministry Committee.
