When: November 9-11, 2017
Where: Wintergreen Resort (south western Virginia near the Blue Ridge Mountains)
Cost: The retreat will cost $330.00 for a two-night stay in a spacious condo that has two or three bedrooms; six meals, workshops, workshop materials and transportation. A non-refundable registration fee of $50.00 must be paid by July 30th to retain your room. Registration will be collected weekly after the 8:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. services.
Roommates: The 2-bedroom condo has space for 3 people and the 3-bedroom condo sleeps up to 4. So, select your roommates and sign up. Single occupancy is available at a higher cost.
Transportation: Give praise to the Bus Ministry for supplying the bus!
Worship Leaders: Three Dynamic Speakers:
· Rev. Dr. Marquita Carmichael is a native of Arlington, Va., a Pastor of Antioch Baptist Church in Susan, Va., an Executive for Church Advancement at Virginia Union University, an author and conference speaker who received a doctoral degree from the Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology, Virginia Union University, Richmond, Va.
She believes that God has called her to preach “good news and deliverance from societal, emotional and systemic- ills of our society”, and to restore good health to ourselves and the community.
· Rev. Montrez Nicholson is a native of Greenwood, South Carolina, an Associate Minister at Alfred Street Baptist Church, Alexandria, Va., a Director of the Women’s Ministry, and Senior Youth Ministry, the former director of Christian Education, and a graduate of the Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology, Virginia Union University, Richmond, Va. She is a child of the Lord who believes that” she owes her life to the true and living God”.
· Minister Shavon Arline-Bradley is a native of New, Jersey, and Associate Minister at Alfred Street Baptist Church, a Director of External Engagement for 19th US Surgeon General and Executive Vice-President of Strategic Planning and Partnership for the NAACP, formerly senior director of health programs. Rev. Bradley has served as a liaison for several state and local health care organizations. She has planned and evaluated the quality of health care programs focusing on racial and ethnic disparities, primarily programs affecting underserved families. Lastly, Minister Arline is a child of God and graduate of the Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology, Virginia Union University, Richmond, Va.
