Instead of revenging the hurt, Jesus tells us to forgive. Come out to the Sister to Sister Session, Friday, February 22 at 7pm in the Historic Sanctuary to discuss the biblical teachings on forgiveness and how we can apply them in our daily walk. R.E.A.D.Y Meeting - Formerly Young Men's Ministry

We’ve added a new spin on the Young Men’s Ministry as we enter 2019. We would like to introduce you to R.E.A.D.Y. An acronym that stands for Reliable. Educated. Assured. Determined. Young Men! Our name represents our overall mission and objectives of: 1) Inspiring ambition of the surrounding youth 2) Stimulating growth and development in the following critical areas: a) Mental, Spiritual, Physical and financial well-being b) Cultivating a brotherhood of young men encouraging each other in the principles of Christ.

We look forward to our initial meeting in the FBC Historic Sanctuary on February 23 from 1:30-3pm. Tell a friend to tell a friend!! We have a big year planned. Museum of the Bible Trip

The Women’s Ministry and Youth Ministry present a family event “The Museum of the Bible” where the family can experience the Bible like never before on Saturday, March 9 from 9am-4pm. Cost is $25 for Adults and $10 for children ages 5-11. “Courageous Pages” kid friendly area available for ages 5-9. Transportation will be provided. The bus will leave FBC at 9am. Payment will be collected in the Narthex from January 13—February 17.

FBC Mission Trip to Haiti

The Missions Ministry is hosting another 7 Day Journey "FBC Mission Trip to Haiti" May 20-27, 2019. We are working to continue to Refurbish Classrooms, Build Desks, Build Partitions for Classrooms, and Provide Medical Assistance.

Registration forms for the Haiti Mission Trip need to be turned in No Later Than Sunday, March 17, 2019. The registration form will secure your spot on the Haiti Mission Trip. The first 15 people will be able to attend. Puerto Rico Mission Trip

The Missions Ministry is heading back for another Mission Trip in Puerto Rico! Join us as we help out remodeling homes that were destroyed by the hurricane, meet with locals in the community and give back in service.

Registration forms and the $50 deposit for the Puerto Mission Trip need to be turned in No Later Than Sunday, March 24, 2019. The registration form and deposit will secure your spot on the Puerto Rico Mission Trip. The first 30 people will be able to attend. The next children's church service will be on Sunday, February 17. We will continue watching "Selma, Lord, Selma" and enjoy a black history skit presented by the FBC drama ministry. The children were challenged to research three facts about George Washington Carver, Fannie Lou Hamer or Constance Motley Baker and share their research with the class on February 17. All children ages 5-12 are invited to attend children's church.

Join us on Monday, January 28th at 7 p.m. at the Manassas City Council Chambers, located at 9027 Center Street, Manassas, VA. to recognize First Lady Bonita Savage during the reading of the Manassas City Black History Proclamation. First Lady Savage will be among the honorees that will make history on this special evening, for she will be recognized as a Jennie Dean legacy recipient.  This will be the first time such a prestigious honor will be awarded.

The first 40 people will be on bus one. Come for Tips on Eating Out While Managing Your Blood Sugars.   We will learn and practice making healthy choices while dining out. Each person is responsible for the cost of his/her meal.  Please join us in this journey to take the best possible care of these wonderfully created bodies that God has given us.  If your blood sugar/glucose readings are higher than normal or what your doctor wants, you owe it to yourself and your family to attend our meetings. In order to put into action Dr. King’s life and teachings into serving the community, new or gently used coats, gloves, hats and scarves are being collected in support of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service. These items will be given to the Beverly Warren Family Shelter in Dumfries. A box will be placed in the Marshall D. Williams Hall for your donations through January 20, 2019. The first Women’s Ministry meeting of 2019 will be held on January 5 at 9am in the Marshall D. Williams Hall. All are invited to come to help us kick-off this 25th Anniversary Year with a bang! God has been good to the women of First Baptist and we want to spend the year in honor and praise to Him; He who has brought us a mighty long way! We are excited to announce Rev. Dr. Keith Savage is our guest speaker! He will help us start this year with a dynamic presentation on the “Full Armor of God”, the proposed theme for the year. We will also select the colors for the year and the slogan for the theme. Come and be a part of this decision. Your voice counts! Mark this date on your calendar, invite a friend, and come to this meeting. A hot breakfast will be served.

SERVE and First Baptist’s vision is that no person in our community will have to be homeless, no child will have to go to bed hungry, and no family will lose their dignity or let their dreams die because of poverty. SERVE, a program of NVFS, needs your help! Let us (the disciples of Jesus Christ) be a blessing for many families struggling just to eat and stay warm. Please drop off your items in the designated tables in the Fellowship Hall by February 3. Our minimum is 1000 items but let us do more!

The Men’s Ministry is sponsoring a trip to “Christmas Celebration 2018-Final Curtain Call” at the Evangel Cathedral in Upper Marlboro, MD on Saturday, December 15. Curtain time is 4pm for this Broadway-quality, multi-media production. Tickets are priced at $55 for senior saints (65 yrs. and older), and $65 for others.Transportation will be aboard a church vehicle. Little Star Ministry FBC Single Parents Christmas Fellowship

As part of our outreach program, The Little Star Ministry is inviting all First Baptist Church members who are single parents with school age children (grades K-12) to a Christmas fellowship on Monday, December 10 from 6-8pm in the fellowship hall.
