Pastoral Staff: The Pastoral Staff provides a multiple vocational pastoral perspective of leadership. Each member functions in a particular vocation or call of God. Each staff member is a specialist in a particular ministry field such as Christian Counseling, Education, Evangelism, Family Life, Missions, Music, Parrish, Youth, etc. It is a leadership conducted vertically through the entire congregation from the very youngest to the most senior within the local family of God. The pastoral staff works with a specific aspect of the ministry as it relates to every age, sex, peer group, or interest group.
The pastoral staff members are the primary servants/undershepherds of the congregation. They share a common call of God and are held in esteem by the congregation, sharing in the responsibilities and decisions as undershepherds of the Lord Jesus Christ. Each is sound in doctrinal position, competent in a particular field, and compatible with the Senior Pastor and fellow pastoral staff members. Although the Senior Pastor serves as head, the rest of the pastoral staff is no less important and commissioned to lead the entire ministry of the church. Their influence is felt throughout the church. As a staff, they conduct the affairs of the church and promote its well being and spiritual growth. The vocational pastoral staff is consistent with biblical teaching and functionally beneficial.
