Prayers for Couples
The Power of a Praying Wife:
Lord, I pray that my husband will find his identity in You. Help him to understand his worth through Your eyes and by Your standards. May he recognize the unique qualities You have placed in him and appreciate them. Enable my husband to see himself the way You see him, understanding that “You have made him a little lower than the angels, and You have crowned him with glory and honor.”
The Power of a Praying Husband:
Lord, Your Word says, “He who obeys instruction guards his life” (Proverbs 19:16 NIV). Bless my wife’s mind, emotions, and will as she takes steps of obedience. Your Word also says that “out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks” (Matthew 12:34 NIV). Fill my wife’s heart with Your love, peace, and joy this day so that the sweetness of Your presence within her overflows in her words.
The Power of a Prayer to Change your Marriage:
Lord, we refuse to let ourselves become anxious about any sense of distance we feel between one another. Instead, we come to You with thanksgiving for who You are and all that You have done for us, and let our requests be made known to You. We pray You will protect our marriage from a separation of our hearts. We can trust that when we are weak You will make us strong, because we depend on You.
2 Corinthians 3:18 NLT: And all of us have had that veil removed so that we can be mirrors that brightly reflect the glory of the Lord. And as the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like him and reflect his glory even more.
Proverbs 3:1-2 NLT: My child, never forget the things I have taught you. Store my commands in your heart, for they will give you a long and satisfying life.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 NLT:Two people can accomplish more than twice as much as one; they get a better return for their labor. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But people who are alone when they fall are in real trouble.
