Motivational Moment

Motivational Moment (“MoMo”) from Senior Servant Keith Savage(Dr. MoMo)
We tried so hard to make things better for our kids that we made them worse. For my grandchildren, I’d like better. I’d really like for them to know about hand me down clothes and homemade ice cream and leftover meatloaf sandwiches. I really would. – Paul Harvey
Questions to Consider:
§What humility can I display today?
§Have I behaved in a way that tells others I am not spoiled?
Humility is not canceling out yourself. It is not destroying your sense of worth. It is honest recognition of your own worth, your worth as God sees you. Pride will cause you to elevate yourself above another, and often above God. You will begin to believe you deserve what you have and lose sight of the blessing unearned and unmerited. But, remember this as well, Christ did not die for worms but for people he loves. You are of great worth in God’s eyes. Only God determines how much it is, not you!
Acts 20:19a NLT:I have done the Lord’s work humbly – yes, and with tears.
James 4:6 NLT:He gives us more and more strength to stand against such evil desires. As the Scriptures say, “God sets himself against the proud, but he shows favor to the humble” (Proverbs 3:34).
BONUS: I hope you learn to dig in the dirt and read books. When you learn to use computers, I hope you also learn to add and subtract in your head. I hope you get teased by your friends when you have your first crush, and when you talk back to your mother that you learn what a bar of soap tastes like.
MAKE IT A HUMBLE DAY!
Yours in Christ,
Keith Savage, Senior Servant
