You are invited to a free community health fair on Saturday, April 13th from 11 am to 2 pm at Ellis Elementary School (next to Unity-Reed High School), 10400 Kim Graham Lane, Manassas, VA 20109. The fair is sponsored by Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated, Prince William County, VA Chapter, in conjunction with many other community organizations, including UVA Health Prince William Medical Center, Prince William County Fire and Rescue, City of Manassas Police, Manassas Parks and Recreation and several medical professional organizations.
Free services include, but are not limited to: blood sugar testing, blood pressure screening, mental health awareness, opioid drug discussion, CPR demonstration, prostate, lung, and breast cancer awareness, GI Health and colorectal cancer awareness, dental health, Zumba classes, health benefits and insurance registration, medical, sports, organ donor resources, and much more! Also, there will be free giveaways and health-oriented fun activities for children (with parental supervision).

FBC Youth are invited to a fun outdoor event hosted at the home of FBC Youth Pastor Rev. Tom Alexander on Saturday, April 13th from 1 pm to 3 pm. FBC Youth will have the opportunity to participate in horseback riding, fishing, hayrides, games, and more. Also, lunch will be provided. Parents of participating FBC Youth can attend and should bring lawn chairs. If you would like your child to attend, please reach out to Rev. It’s critical that First Baptist Church Manassas bring 4-5 people to attend the Sunday, April 21, 2024 (2:00 – 4:00 pm) VOICE core team training/potluck. This is an important training that every VOICE institution needs to send representatives. FBC needs to send persons representing our social justice core team. Please make sure to sign up for the important upcoming VOICE Core Team Training/Potluck on April 21st. Note the location and start time. Details are below. There is also an opportunity, described below, to check out a model Crisis Receiving Center in Arizona through a virtual tour VOICE is participating in. Thank you.

We are investing in our internal growth and development this year! Join the first session of our four-part training series for VOICE members and prospective members to build strong Core Teams! We’ll share food from diverse cultures, learn from VOICE leaders about building effective teams, receive a Core Team Manual, and focus on building relational power! Teams of 4-15 people from each member are welcome. If you are able we encourage you to bring a dish that represents your culture, heritage, or history. RSVP is requested by April 17 so that we can send pre-reading materials to all attendees & plan space accordingly.

We welcome anyone interested in learning more about how Crisis Receiving Centers (CRC) operate to join us for a virtual tour of an Arizona CRC. Hosted by Connections Health this tour will show a model CRC that incorporates both adult and youth wings with short-stay beds and 23hr recliners.
